What skills and experience we're looking for
- To advise and support the development and implementation across all key stages: - appropriate courses - schemes of work - assessments - data analysis of student progress - teaching and learning strategies - staff development needs
- To help raise the quality of teaching and learning in all Key Stages.
- Assist in the raising of student attainment and achievement
- To support in lesson observations, work scrutiny and moderation exercises
- To keep up-to-date with curriculum and pedagogical development and, in discussion with the Assistant Principal inclusion/SEND, support staff as appropriate to raise awareness and expertise
- To participate within the selection process for teaching / support staff posts when required and to ensure effective induction of staff in line with Academy procedures
- To promote the Academy values and ethos
- To lead the process for EAL pupils joining the academy which are new to the country
- To plan, deliver and evaluate intervention programmes for pupils with little English

Our commitment to the development of all staff - CPD on Wednesday afternoons and the opportunity to collaborate with staff from other schools in the LAT. Also all staff at Strood receive regular coaching feedback through our on-line platform on-track.
Strood academy is easily accessible by A2 and the high speed train can allow for travel into London in less than 30 minutes.
We have a common sense approach to workload. All teachers are expected to feedback or live mark. We also work closely as a Trust allowing for centralised resources to be shared across our secondary schools.

Strood Academy has anexciting opportunity to appoint aCoordinator of Learning - EALfor the department. This is a new role to meet the increasing number of students with English as an additional language. The successful candidatewill need to deliver updates and professional development sessions to staff in this learning area as well as creatingand maintaining a bank of resources to support EAL students.
This is a permanent position offering MPS/UPS, commensurate with experience +TLR2c£3,214.
