Become the Operational Heart of Our School!

Are you a highly organised, proactive, and compassionate administrator ready to be the linchpin that ensures seamless learning every single day? We are seeking a dedicated Cover Administrative Assistant to play a pivotal, high-impact role in the daily life of our school. This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of school operations, managing essential cover for staff, administering first aid, and serving as the welcoming first point of contact for our entire community.

You will be the architect of continuity, using your expertise with the SIMS Cover software to organise daily cover and ensure lesson plans are delivered without interruption. Your daily work will directly influence the quality of education our students receive.

Key Impact Areas:

  • Cover Continuity Management: Administer and manage the SIMS Cover software to organise daily cover for absent staff, finalising the daily cover list by 8:00 AM. You'll adapt plans throughout the day to meet unexpected challenges and ensure minimal disruption to the learning environment.

  • First Point of Contact & Ambassador: Act as the initial, welcoming contact for parents, visitors, and stakeholders, embodying the school’s values in all interactions. You will deal with telephone and face-to-face enquiries efficiently.

  • Welfare & First Aid: Be a vital resource for the school’s health, triaging and administering appropriate first aid to students, staff, and visitors, and coordinating with parents and medical professionals when necessary. You will also assume the role of a Fire Warden.

  • Critical Safeguarding Role: Control access to the school in line with safeguarding procedures, including signing-in visitors and checking identification. Coordinate with HR and safeguarding teams to ensure all supply staff are properly vetted and recorded in the Single Central Record.
