What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and highly motivated Cover Supervisor with a passion for teaching and learning, to join our team on a permanent basis. The role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday -Friday, 8.00am-4.00pm, Term time only. Candidates looking for a part time role will be considered.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students with their learning, ensuring all learners are challenged and encouraged to achieve their full potential. You will be working alongside passionate staff who are determined to remove barriers and bring out the best in every student.
Main duties will be to supervise whole classes during the absence of the class teacher under the guidance of work set from teaching/senior staff. This will include the implementation of work programmes, managing student behaviour and assisting students in relevant activities.
The role is the perfect stepping stone for someone who is considering a career in teaching and wants to gain experience in a supportive and friendly school.
The successful candidate will:
- Be able to communicate appropriately and effectively with young people.
- Be able to manage behaviour in the classroom to ensure students remain engaged in set work.
- Be flexible to work throughout the school within different departments and with different key stages daily.
