What skills and experience we're looking for

We seek to appoint a Cover Manager to join our fantastic team of colleagues, providing cover lessons across our school, well prepared by subject specialists, with an emphasis on PE and Sport, but with a keenness to pitch in across the whole school curriculum.

As well as delivering cover each day, this role will also involve supporting the Assistant Headteacher and the Deputy Headteacher with organisation and administration of our systems for cover before the start and at the end of the school day and will also involve the running of extra-curricular activities in the course of each week, playing to the strengths of the successful candidate.

Applications are especially welcome from those with skills in and passion for sports and coaching/PE as there will be scope for you to support in particular boys’ sport but also sport generally across our extensive curriculum and enrichment cycle.

If you have energy, enthusiasm, an ability to apply yourself to all school policies along with the flexibility to respond each day to a diverse schedule, and, above all, you have a commitment to young people and their progress, we are positive you will fit in to our school. You can contact us by email: recruitment@noadswood.hants.sch.uk to discuss this post.

What the school offers its staff

This role is an opportunity to develop your skills in teaching and learning, and with working with young people, and to gain experience at the heart of school life. This can become a career in itself or serve as a springboard to a teaching career, coaching or other work with young people in the future. We support our cover supervisors’ specialisms about which they are passionate, whilst also providing breadth of experience, and they are also immersed in school life as mentors for young people.

Commitment to safeguarding

Noadswood School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection processes reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks, along with other relevant employment checks.
