What skills and experience we're looking for
The Hayling College are looking to appoint a Cover Manager.
The Cover Manager will:
- manage the staff cover system ensuring continuity in teaching and learning
- organise the appropriate deployment of teachers, supply staff and cover supervisors to cover absences and emergencies
- entering cover requirements into the school system
- provide a daily cover sheet, updated as required, to relevant areas and members of staff
- provide staff with cover details at the start of the day and when emergencies occur
- act as the main point of contact for any problems that may occur in relation to cover
- keep records on covers completed by individual staff to ensure that regulations are adhered to.
- liaise with supply and recruitment agencies in engaging appropriately qualified supply staff to cover absences and temporary vacancies
- induct and support our supply teachers and Cover Supervisors
- provide administrative support with booking appointments for parents
- provide administrative support for our timetabling team
Additionally, the Cover Manager will be an integral part of the school team and help ensure learning and teaching remains at the heart of our commitment to young people, through supervision of classes when regular teachers are not in school.
