Cover Supervisor job summary

There are many opportunities for career progression as a Cover Supervisor from becoming a Cover Manager, through to becoming a qualified teacher.

The responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor are varied, and a wide variety of skills are required. Good interpersonal skills are required together with the ability to earn and maintain the respect of students and to ensure the appropriate codes of classroom behaviour are observed. Applicants for this post must be enthusiastic and possess a determined character, together with a positive approach to working with young people and the ability to set clear guidelines for them.

We are looking for a Cover Supervisor to be involved mainly in the supervision of classes and to oversee the completion of work by students in the absence of the nominated teacher. The role is based on working 31.25 hours per week, term time plus 1 week (39 working weeks), working hours are 8.15am to 3.30pm or 8.30am to 3.15pm, Monday to Friday.
