Cover Supervisor job summary
The main role of the postholder is to provide stability and continuity for students whose lessons are affected through short term teacher absence by supervising the learning of pupils. To work with and supervise individuals and groups of children under the direction/instruction of teaching and/or senior staff, inclusive of specific individual learning needs, enabling access to learning for all students and assistance and support in classroom management and behaviour techniques and providing specialist support in a specific curricula/resource area.
Prospective candidates should have a good standard of education equivalent to NVQ Level 3 and be capable of offering sensitive and caring support to young people and have the ability to promote a calm and orderly environment. Previous working within a secondary school is desirable but not essential. Full training will be provided within the school.
