Cover Supervisor job summary
Our Lady of the Magnificat MAC Our Lady of the Magnificat MAC are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic and dedicated Cover Supervisor to join our collaborative and supportive team. This role will be based at St Benedict's Catholic High School. This is a permanent, full time role working 37 hours per week on term time only plus 5 inset days (39 weeks per year). You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Supervise classes during the absence of teachers, under the guidance of the Cover Manager and teaching/senior staff, to implement programmed work with students in or out of the classroom. It is important that the ideal candidate is able to work constructively as part of the teaching team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and their position
- Complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or short term for whole classes, it may also involve progress and monitoring students and assessing, recording and reporting on students’ achievement, progress and development.
- Be responsible for students’ learning and behaviour in those circumstances where a teacher is not available to teach a class or where a group of students need special supervision.
