What skills and experience we're looking for
HVH is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor Coordinator to join our team and make a real difference to the young people who attend our school. You must have a passion for building positive relationships with young people to help them achieve more than they thought possible. The successful candidate should be a highly motivated and enthusiastic professional and have a desire to support students
The Cover Supervisor Coordinator leads the of Cover Supervisor who supervise lessons during the short-term absence of teachers and who are at times are asked to undertake administrative tasks in departments. The Cover Supervisor Coordinator will also act as a Cover Supervisor.
The role will include:
- Coordinating cover for classes in the absence of staff including liaising with supply staff/agencies
- Supervision of whole classes in the absence of a teacher
- Delivering lessons across a range of subjects following the plans left by the class teacher
- Keeping the children on task for the work they have been set and ensure it is completed
- Maintaining a purposeful learning environment in the classroom
- Provision of in-class support and assisting if they have any questions or working with small groups of students or individually on a one-to-one basis.
- To support students in and outside of the classroom
- Assist with additional classroom duties when required
