THIS IS AN INTERNAL POST FOR THE ACTIVE LEARNING TRUST EMPLOYEES ONLY.
Chantry Academy is seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and confident Cover Supervisor to join our dedicated team. This role is vital in supporting the continuity of learning in the absence of teaching staff by supervising classes and ensuring that pre-set work is completed in a safe and supportive environment.

Contract: Fixed-Term- 31/08/2026
Hours: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, Monday to Thursday – 8:00am to 4:00pm, Friday – 8:00am to 3:30pm (Includes a daily unpaid break of 30 minutes)
Salary:ALT Grade E Points 12-15, £22,432.04-£23,338.88 – Annually, Actual

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers.
- Ensure pupils remain on task with the pre-prepared work provided.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policy.
- Collect and return completed work, reporting back as necessary.
- Support classroom preparation and resource management.
- Provide personal support for pupils, including promoting independence.
What We’re Looking For:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience.
- GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade C/Level 4 or above.
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant is desirable.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- A professional, calm and flexible approach with the ability to work independently
