What skills and experience we're looking for
Essential
- Good standard of education especially with regard to literacy and numeracy skills.
- GCSE Maths and English grade C or equivalent
- Ability to work calmly under pressure
- Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing
- Ability to work collaboratively with others
- Ability to work within school-based systems and specified timelines
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- High level of ICT skills including the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel Powerpoint)
- Excellent presentation skills
- Ability to relate to young people in a firm but fair manner
- Understanding of current trends in education
Desirable
- Previous experience of working in a school/academic environment
- Ability to use SIMS or equivalent

Arnold Hill Spencer Academy are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Cover Supervisor to join our team. You will provide supervision for classes when the regular teacher is absent. You will also provide administrative support to one or more of our faculty teams.
This is a responsible role, which will make an important contribution to the school’s improvement programme and will primarily involve taking sole charge of a group of students on short term basis. You will be joining a forward looking and dynamic team which is warm and friendly, but which has high expectations of everyone. The position is an ideal opportunity for someone wishing to pursue a career in education. We guarantee every member of staff CPD and a further comprehensive programme of professional development is available through our partnership with the Spencer’s Academy Trust.
