Cover Supervisor - Fixed term - 1 year job summary

Middlewich High School is a forward-thinking mainstream school and seeking to recruit a suitably qualified Cover Supervisor, starting in September 2024. The contract will be initially fixed term of one year with the potential this may be extended, dependant on staffing requirements.

The role will include supervision of whole classes in the absence of a teacher, delivering lessons across a range of subjects following the plans left by the class teacher; keeping the children on task for the work they have been set and ensure it is completed; maintaining a purposeful learning environment in the classroom; provision of in class support and assisting if they have any questions; working with small groups of students or individually on a one-to-one basis; to support students in and outside of the classroom.

You should have a keen interest in working with 11-16 year olds and already have some experience of working with this age group of children.

Hours of work - 37 hours per week - 38 weeks per year - term time only - Monday - Thursday 8am - 4pm, Friday 8am - 3.30pm.
