We are looking for a Cover Supervisor to start in November 2024, to be responsible for the supervision of classes and to oversee the completion of work by students in the absence of the nominated teacher. The role is based on working 37 hours per week, term time plus 1 week (39 working weeks).

Good interpersonal skills are required together with the ability to earn and maintain the respect of students and to ensure the appropriate codes of classroom behaviour are observed. Applicants for this post must be enthusiastic and possess a determined character, together with a positive approach to working with young people and the ability to set clear guidelines for them. Flexibility is key as the daily role is a reactive one requiring you to move to where need is greatest.

Confidence using a laptop as well as good organisational skills are important for this role. This post is open to any applicant with suitable skills and experience regardless of qualifications although the position may be particularly attractive to graduates thinking of a career in teaching in the longer term.
