Cover Supervisor/HLTA Split role (fixed term maternity cover) job summary

Aqueduct Primary Academy is looking for an enthusiastic Cover Supervisor/HLTA to join our team for a fixed term 9 month Maternity cover from November 4th 2024 to July 31st 2025. 

We welcome applications from experienced support staff who believe they can make a positive difference to learning by providing our children with exciting and memorable experiences. You will supervise a prepared lesson in the absence of a class teacher, ensuring that in doing so the pupils’ learning and development is continued and maintained.  You will also need to have the ability to communicate the work set by the class teacher to the pupils; ensuring that they are aware of expectations for both behavior and task completion. 

This is a dual role and the salary will be split as follows to reflect this:

6 hours per week-HLTA at SCP 7-11

23.75 hours per week - Cover Supervisor at SCP 5-6

The working pattern for this role is: 8;30am to 4.00pm four days per week and 8:30am to 3.45pm one day per week.


The successful candidate will:

    • A passion for empowering children to reach their maximum potential. 
    • Have experience of working with children of primary school age. 
    • Have a recognised HLTA qualification
