What skills and experience we're looking for
NVQ 3 or equivalent or experience in relevant discipline.
Very good numeracy/literacy skills.
Specific training in specialist area.
Effective use of ICT and other specialist equipment/resources.
Full working knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation.
Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities.
Ability to relate well to children and adults.
Motivation to work with children
Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children
Suitability to work with children

The successful candidate will be supported through a bespoke induction programme as well as being given opportunities and support for further career and professional development during their time at the Academy.

The school joined Eden Learning Trust in December 2023 and has also benefitted from the PSBP programme; enabling a move to new state of the art facilities in January 2015. Student recruitment is consistently strong and the Academy has been oversubscribed in Year 7 for each of the last 5 years. This is also the case for September 2024, whilst KS5 numbers also increasing.
