What skills and experience we're looking for

GCSE (or equivalent) in English and maths

Ability to relate to students in a pleasant and sympathetic manner and to recognise potential child safeguarding issues

Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality

Ability to build effective working relationships with staff and other stakeholders

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

A commitment to getting the best outcomes for all pupils and promoting the ethos and values of the school

Excellent time management and organisational skills

An interest in and understanding of how children learn

Evidence of commitment to own and colleagues’ professional learning

Positive attitude towards team working with the confidence to motivate people.

Good IT skills

Understanding of academy child safeguarding procedures

Ability to communicate a vision and inspire others

Familiar with Microsoft Office

Uphold and promote the ethos and values of the school

The willingness to listen to and support colleagues and students

Commitment to positive behaviour approach

A sense of humour and a sense of proportion
