Cover Supervisor job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Ormiston Denes Academy. We are seeking a confident, adaptable, and student-focused individual to join our dedicated team as a Cover Supervisor. As Cover Supervisor you will be supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged and on task, and maintaining a positive learning environment. We are looking for individuals who are proactive, resilient, and committed to supporting the success of all learners. Previous experience working with young people is desirable, but full training will be provided.
This role is for a fixed term period of two terms, in the first instance. You will be working 37 hours per week, term time plus 5 days (39 working weeks per year).

About You
To succeed in this role, you should have
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English (C and above)
- Knowledge and compliance with policies and procedures relevant to child protection and health and safety.
- A self-motivated and confident attitude, with the ability to supervise a class of up to 30 students.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships quickly with students and staff.
- Excellent ICT and keyboard skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and equality of opportunity as well as inclusion
