Start Date:ASAP

Salary (Actual Salary):£19,908 - £20,832

Hours of Work:32.5 Hours Per Week, Term Time Plus 5 Days

Outwood Academy Bishopsgarth is a community school in the heart of Stockton. It is part of OGAT, a Multi Academy Trust in the north of England – and we are looking for an outstanding candidate to help us when staff are not available.

Our vision is to put students first in order to raise standards and transform lives. To make this happen it is sometimes necessary that our staff are not in the academy due to staff training. Therefore we have a Cover Supervisor to supervise these classes. There may be occasions when more than one member of staff is not in the academy and part of the role of Cover Supervisor would be to work with our local supply agencies to arrange additional staff for the day. In order to make these arrangements and to allow for local supply agency staff to travel to the academy this role does have an early start time of between 7am - 8am.

You will be responsible for supervising students on work left by the teacher and to assist in preparing the learning environment and the materials required. You must possess good communication and listening skills and ensure that respect and confidentiality is maintained at all times. You should be educated to Level 2 standard in English or Math.

With a holistic view of education, we value vocational, practical, creative and academic talent equally and focus on building transferable skills that result in real-world success. We are also an ‘enhanced mainstream school’ providing an outstanding education for young people with physical and/or sensory needs. We aim to instil British Values: a passion for democratic participation, individual liberty, mutual respect, and difference and diversity, backed by a commitment to taking responsibility for one’s own conduct and progress. By empowering students to take ownership of their learning, we can create tomorrow’s leaders as well as responsible, caring and engaging citizens.
