Salary: Grade 5 - £18,420 - £21.157
(actual salary based on FTE £21,322 - £24,491)
37 hrs per week, term time plus training days (39 weeks per year) Monday – Friday 08.15am – 16.15pm and a 15.45pm finish on a Friday
Are you considering joining the teaching profession or are you someone who has the experience or confidence to cover classes in the absence of a teacher? We are seeking to appoint a confident and enthusiastic individual to provide lesson and registration cover to facilitate students’ learning during the short-term absence of teachers. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of behaviour and ensuring set tasks are completed.
The primary subjects you may cover could be Mathematics, English, Science and PE. Although you could cover any discipline that our curriculum offers.
Although not essential, a degree in one of the disciplines we offer will be advantageous. In return, you can expect to work for a highly regarded School within a supportive team and build vital real-life classroom experience, which will help improve your chances of obtaining a place on a teacher-training programme.
The ideal candidate will: -
• Likely be a graduate who is considering joining the teaching profession or has the experience or confidence to cover classes in the absence of a teacher
• Be highly organised
• Be resilient and confident
• Have experience and enjoy working with teenagers or within a school environment
• Want to make a difference to the youngsters in our care
• We are particularly interested in applicants with a degree/interest in Science
