Cover Supervisor job summary

37 hours a week, Monday to Friday
We have an opportunity to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic person, to cover classes across the whole curriculum and age-range in the short term absence of teachers.
As well as covering classes, the cover supervisor implements work programmes for individuals / groups and assists in the whole planning cycle and the management / preparation of resources.
We are looking for someone who is committed to support the learning of our students, to join our team of Cover Supervisors.
This is an ideal opportunity for those of you who may be thinking of teaching as a career, as this will provide experience of a classroom and students.
The successful candidate would need:
• A good standard of basic education;
• An NVQ level 2 in relevant qualification (or equivalent) or equivalent experience;
• Previous experience of working with young people in a similar environment;
• The ability to take charge of a classroom and give clear instructions and guidance to students.
Experience of supervising group work and supporting students with special needs will be an advantage but not essential.
