Cover Supervisor job summary
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible individual to provide lesson and registration cover for absent staff. The role will involve supporting and delivering learning by undertaking supervision of whole classes as required, managing student behaviour, dealing with issues according to school policies and procedures, and keeping and updating records as agreed with class teachers. The role will also involve some administrative and other support tasks at times when cover is not required. Good communication and ICT skills are essential, along with an interest in the education of young people.

Applicants should have a good standard of general education including GCSE Mathematics and English A*-C or equivalent, NVQ/VRQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant Qualification or equivalent relevant student-centred qualification, proven experience of working with young people in a secondary school setting and competent ICT skills. Sound knowledge of safeguarding and the ability to work well within a team are also essential.
