The Cover Supervisor role
offers the successful candidates the perfect opportunity to become
involved in the learning of young people. This
can be a career in itself, or serve as a springboard to a teaching career or
other work with young people in the future. We support our cover
supervisors’ specialisms about which they are passionate, whilst also providing
breadth of experience.
A specific interest in working within a certain
Key Stage (i.e only years 7&8) could be considered. The ability to
work as a team and learn new skills is more important than previous experience,
and full training will be provided.
Duties include supporting
a mixture of classes during the absence of the regular class teacher, setting the work provided, monitoring/managing
behaviour and keeping students on task as well as supporting teachers in
the classroom. You will have high standards
of expectation, deliver lively and engaging lessons from existing plans and
support students by responding to questions. Although you will not
be teaching, ensuring the students keep on task is most important, so good
classroom management is essential.
