What skills and experience we're looking for

We are searching for a Cover Supervisor. This role would be ideal for an organised, flexible and resilient person who can adapt quickly, challenge and support learners of all ages in a range of skills and be able to adapt to and deliver the plans from a wide range of teachers. The post is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience working with secondary age students and would be ideal for someone looking for a career in teaching. This would be an opportunity for recently qualified teachers who have not yet secured a teaching role who would like to gain extra experience in a classroom.

What you will do:

• Supervise the work of whole classes set by their class/subject teacher in accordance with school policy.

• When not supervising lessons, Classroom Supervisors provide support where required e.g., working with individual/small groups of students in lessons and so should be happy to work flexibly across all departments.

• Answer pupil queries about process and procedures relating to the lesson and the work set.

• Manage the behaviour of pupils to ensure a constructive learning environment.

• Establishing productive working relationships with students, promoting positive values/attitudes and setting high expectations

The successful candidate will have:

• A teaching qualification or Maths and English GCSE grade A* - C and a qualification in Level 3 Cover Supervision, HLTA or equivalent.

• Ability to work flexibly within a team and motivate students.

• Excellent and effective communication skills.
