Cover Teacher – KS1 and KS2 (part-time) job summary
Cover Teacher – KS1 and KS2 – Wanted from September 2022
We are looking for an engaging and flexible teacher, to cover classes whilst our team are on their PPA or leadership release time.
The job will include covering lessons from years one to five, so a good working knowledge of both the Key Stage One and Key Stage Two National Curriculums is essential.
We are looking for someone fun but professional, someone who will be a good team-player, someone able to apply school procedures consistently and work well with our teachers in providing an engaging education for our pupils.
The number one quality we are looking for is flexibility – we are a really supportive team and all work hard together, as one, to better the lives of our pupils.
This role would suit someone looking for work on the pay range MPS1 to MPS6 and the advertised salary is the full-time equivalent. This roll is actually part-time.
We are happy to offer a contract of either two days a week (0.4), two and a half days a week (0.5) or three days a week (0.6) and would like these days to be in the middle of the week – so not Mondays or Fridays. The contract offer will depend on the needs of the selected candidate and the school.
For teachers currently working in a school, and who need to ‘serve notice’ on their current contract before the end of May, we may invite you to interview and appoint before the advertised ‘advert end date’. If this applies to you, please make this very clear on your application. This means that the job may close before the advertised date – so please apply without delay.
You’ll need two strong (and recent) references for your application and please do ensure that they are ‘easily contactable’.
Please also ensure that there are no gaps in employment on your application. We take our safeguarding duties very seriously and the recruitment process will follow all safer recruitment requirements.
If selected for interview, we ask that you complete a CP ‘self-declaration form’ prior to attending and that you bring all relevant qualifications, and two forms of ID, with you on the day.
Commitment to safeguarding
Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.
Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.
Offers of employment may be subject to the following checks (where relevant):
childcare disqualification
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
medical
online and social media
prohibition from teaching
right to work
satisfactory references
suitability to work with children
You must tell us about any unspent conviction, cautions, reprimands or warnings under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.
