Creative Arts Teacher job summary
We are looking to appoint an experienced, inspiring and dynamic Creative Arts Teacher. We would encourage you to apply if you want to work in an environment that allows Teachers to be creative in their approach and supports them to further their own development.
We are an all-through (Primary – Secondary) school and as a Creative Arts Teacher you would mainly be working in Secondary, but would have some contact with the Primary pupils too.
The ideal candidate would have experience or an interest in working with children with severe SEMH and behavioural difficulties, either in a mainstream or special/PRU school environment.
At present we teach Art across the academy. It is an integral part of the core curriculum for all pupils at Wandle Valley Academy and we currently teach up to GCSE. There is scope for this post to look at teaching Design Technology, Media, Photography or a mixture of all the creative arts. You will be responsible for the curriculum planning, delivery of all lessons and management of their individual subject budget.
You must have strong classroom management skills and relevant successful experience as a Teacher of any of the Creative Arts.
I would encourage you to apply if you have ever wanted to really have the opportunity to look at education in a different way, if you are able to think outside the box and you are ready for a challenge that will help to positively change the lives of the pupils and families you will work with daily.
Commitment to safeguarding
We will also consider carrying out an online search on shortlisted candidates to help identify any incidents or issues that are publicly available online. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
