Curriculum Area Leader for Science job summary
The Regional Science Centre Oldham is a purpose-built science building with twenty-one modern specialist laboratories across four floors, including a primary lab to support our outreach work with the local community. We currently offer AS and A level Biology, Chemistry, Electronics and Physics alongside level 3 BTEC Applied Science Extended and Diploma and from September we will launch the Science T level. Many of our students progress to study a wide range of science courses at university including Medicine, Dentistry and other competitive courses. As a result, the department has excellent relationships with local universities. The science team consists of highly qualified professionals who are committed to gaining the best from their students. Teaching staff are supported by expert science technicians and support staff to ensure the smooth running of the building and work together to create a positive learning environment. The dedicated team offers a range of extra-curricular activities in order to help OSFC science students enjoy the sixth form experience and stand out when applying for their next steps. We are seeking to appoint an experienced leader and outstanding teacher to lead this consistently high performing Curriculum Area.
