Curriculum Director, Maths
The Sheffield UTC Academy Trust provides a successful, dynamic education and is made up of two UTCs rated Good by Ofsted. We opened our City Centre site in September 2013 specialising in Engineering and Creative & Digital Media and then expanded to open our second UTC on the exciting Olympic Legacy Park in Sheffield in September 2016 offering opportunities for students in Health Science, Computing and Sports Science. This opportunity arises following the promotion of the current Curriculum Director.

You will work alongside the Executive Principal, Principal and UTC staff to develop a centre of excellence focusing on Health Science / Sports Science and Computing. Central to this role is ensuring outstanding delivery of GCSE, AS & A2 Mathematics / Further Mathematics and Level 3 Core Mathematics as outlined in the offer on the UTC website. The new post-holder will benefit from developing links with the technical and other academic qualifications to explore mathematical aspects of Computing, Sport Science, Health and Science
Essential educational requirements
A good/outstanding teacher who is qualified to professional/ degree level
Teaching qualification or equivalent
Essential skills and experience
Excellent subject knowledge relevant to faculty area.
Successful operational delivery at a leadership level in a relevant setting
Proven positive impact on raising standards and managing change.
Evidence of the ability to cohesively build, manage and lead a team in the successful delivery of projects in line with targets and objectives.
Experience of development planning and review to secure positive outcomes.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of a range of pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning gained in a comparable environment.
Evidence of effective coaching or mentoring to secure improvements in teaching and learning.
Excellent up to date knowledge of the appropriate curriculum development opportunities in both vocational and academic combinations.
Outstanding ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, including the wider community in order to positively promote the work of the UTC.
An additional one-off payment of £2000 may be available for the right candidate to support relocation costs.
About UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park
UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park is a University Technical College which opened in September 2016 on the Olympic Legacy Park site in north-east Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The UTC is sponsored by The Sheffield College and Sheffield Hallam University, who also sponsor the UTC Sheffield which opened in 2013, Specialising in Computing, Health Sciences and Sport Science. Students can join in Y9 or Y12 to study a combination of GCSEs/A Levels and a technical specialism.
