At present we are looking for a driven professional who is striving to progress from middle management and has the ability, passion and ambition to lead and manage all Digital Media qualifications across key stage 4 and 5. An opportunity to work with the Senior Leadership team will be available for the suitable candidate.
The successful candidate will require high levels of both personal and professional commitment and be dedicated to driving success throughout their team. You will be required to have current experience in leading a digital media curriculum across Key Stage 4 and 5 and feel confident in leading and managing a team of teachers and their support staff.
CURRICULUM DIRECTOR OF DIGITAL MEDIA job summary
• Develop and implement policies and practices which reflect the UTCs commitment to high achievement through effective teaching and learning.
• Have an enthusiasm for the curriculum area which motivates and supports other staff and encourages a shared understanding of the contribution the subject can make to all aspects of students’ lives.
• Use relevant UTC, local and national data to inform targets for development and further improvement for individuals and groups of students.
• Raise the level of achievement for all students through a Curriculum Development Plan (CDP) which identifies clear targets, time-scales and success criteria for its monitoring. This should be in line with the UTC Development Plan (UDP).
• Monitor student progress and evaluate the effects on teaching and learning by working alongside colleagues, analysing work and outcomes.
• Chair meetings of subject staff (including provision of agenda and minutes) and provide other briefings as necessary.
• Implement all quality assurance procedures outlined in the QA programme, including undertaking lesson observations, learning walks, work scrutiny and student voice activities.
• Establish and implement clear policies and practices for assessing, recording and reporting on students’ achievement in the curriculum area.
• Attend all necessary Middle Leader Meetings.
• Liaise with parents over all matters concerning pupil performance in the curriculum area.
• Report to the appropriate Governors’ Committee regarding progress and results in Digital Media
• Liaise with the mathematics department to ensure there is a coordinated response to the school meeting its targets for 4+/5+/7+, including English and mathematics, to include a specific focus on pupil premium and SEND students.
