An exciting opportunity has arisen to become the Curriculum Director for Maths at Selby High School. If you have already made an impact through a significant leadership role within a maths department, and you are ready for the next step in your career, then come and join us at Selby High to take our high performing maths team on the next stage of its journey. We’re looking for a creative and inspirational leader, with excellent understanding of curriculum development, and a proven track record of gaining excellent results, to lead our Maths team, which has gone from strength to strength in recent years.

This is a critical leadership role in our school and offers the successful candidate the chance to take an influential role in developing whole school strategy as well as leading the maths team. We are looking to appoint an outstanding teacher and leader, who possesses the ability, drive and desire to:

We combine a strong focus on the core areas of literacy, numeracy and science, with a rich and engaging curriculum which offers a broad variety of exciting courses, including the full range of art, technology, sport-related and performing arts based subjects. Learning is carefully structured around the knowledge, skills and understanding required both for success in examinations, and preparation for life in the modern world.

We aim to develop resilience and independence in our students, acknowledging that learning from our mistakes is all part of making great progress. Through regular assessment of learning we are able to inform students and their parents and carers of strengths and areas for development at regular points throughout the year.
