As Curriculum Leader for English, you will:
- Set the strategic direction for English, developing and delivering an exciting vision that supports our whole school aims
- Lead a dedicated team to provide an engaging and high-quality curriculum, maximising student progress and enjoyment
- Monitor and support student achievement, using data to drive improvement and intervention
- Ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning, curriculum planning, and assessment
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that supports staff development and student wellbeing
The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status and strong teaching experience in secondary English
- A track record of leading or supporting curriculum development and raising standards
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills
- A passion for developing students’ love of English and a commitment to their wider personal development

The school is situated to the West of London with good rail and road access. Our location means our staff enjoy living in areas such as West and South West London, Surrey and Berkshire making fantastic choices for city, suburban or rural living available.
Thamesmead is a vibrant and successful school. In 2019 our students gained strong GCSE results. 85% of students gained a 4 grade or higher in English and Maths and 58% of students achieved a grade 5 or higher in English and Maths. 83% achieved 5 GCSEs or more graded at 4 or above.
