Curriculum Leader for Maths job summary
We are seeking an outstanding Subject Lead for Maths following an internal promotion. In this unique role, you will lead the teaching of mathematics across the school including our hospital classroom.
Why Merit?
Unlike most alternative provision, we mirror a mainstream curriculum with an academic focus and pupils studying for 7 GCSE in recognised EBacc subjects. Merit pupils go on to study at all levels, with many going on to University.
We are proud of our GCSE results which align with some of the best in the city. In the last year exams were taken, 50% of pupils gained a grade 4 or above in Maths.
Rated ‘good’ by Ofsted in 2019 under the new framework, the inspection team recognised:

Merit is a small, local authority maintained school in Stoke on Trent for secondary school children with medical and mental health needs. We are also responsible for providing education at The University Hospitals of North Midlands.
