Curriculum Leader for Performing Arts job summary
We are looking to appoint a passionate and experienced Drama leader who is keen to take the next steps in their career. The role will involve leading the Drama department, while providing support for the subject leader for Music, and coordinating the activities of both departments in the school. Each year we continue to make up to 21 places available at the school in our new intake to students who can demonstrate an aptitude for music or drama. Music and Drama have dedicated time in our timetable at Key Stage 3 and are chosen by students in Key Stage 4 each year. We have a thriving extra-curricular offer for our students in these subjects but we are always looking for ways to develop and enhance this further.

The school is situated to the West of London with good rail and road access. Our location means our staff enjoy living in areas such as West and South West London, Surrey and Berkshire making fantastic choices for city, suburban or rural living available.
Thamesmead is a vibrant and successful school. In 2019 our students gained strong GCSE results. 85% of students gained a 4 grade or higher in English and Maths and 58% of students achieved a grade 5 or higher in English and Maths. 83% achieved 5 GCSEs or more graded at 4 or above.
