Curriculum Leader for Social Sciences job summary
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Curriculum Leader to guide our thriving Social Sciences department (Criminology, Psychology, and Sociology) from September 2025. The role requirements:
To lead Social Sciences at The Misbourne, quality assuring the curriculum area
To plan and deliver high quality lessons in Applied Psychology, Criminology Psychology, Sociology for our Sixth Form students (dependant of candidates specialism)
Foster a stimulating learning environment across this curriculum area that supports student progress and attainment
Assess, monitor, and provide constructive feedback to support student development in your own classes and oversee this process within the Social Sciences Team.
Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and student support initiatives.
Work collaboratively within a dedicated team of Curriculum Leaders to uphold the school’s teaching and learning framework and high academic standards.
The successful applicant will need to:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Have a strong academic background in Psychology, Sociology, or Criminology or a related discipline.
Demonstrate experience of teaching Psychology and/or Sociology at A Level, with a track record of securing excellent student outcomes.
Be passionate about their subject and committed to inspiring students.
Have excellent communication and organisational skills.
Be a team player, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
