What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking a Curriculum Leader of Geography with excellent qualifications, who isenthusiastic and dynamic with a strong ambition to improve our provision. We are looking for a colleague who will work collaboratively with the team, is receptive to innovative practices, and is an inspirational and motivational practitioner. You will also be expected to take an active role in all aspects of the work of the Geography department and the school, which is at an exciting stage in its improvement journey.
The ethos of the department is one of engagement, enjoyment, excellent teacher/studentrelationships and expectations of high standards for all students. We are seeking someone who will impart a love of Geography to students of all abilities and backgrounds. New ideas and initiatives are warmly welcomed. A sense of humour and the ability to be a team player are vital.
The successful candidate will:

What the school offers its staff
The Geography department is forward-thinking, creative, innovative and supportive of change andnew approaches. However, over recent years student progress has been below our expectations.
We had a change in leadership earlier in the year, but our current Curriculum Leader is leaving dueto promotion elsewhere. We are therefore seeking a new Curriculum Leader who will embrace the challenge of further developing the curriculum, assessment, and advancing teaching and learning in order to bring about sustained improvement. You will be well supported by an experienced and highly successful Curriculum Leader of another humanities subject in order to ensure consistencyand challenge.
