What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Curriculum Leader of Computer Science. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated teacher of computing who is seeking additional responsibility.

The successful candidate will be an excellent teacher of computing - articulate, inspiring, confident and supportive with effective people management skills. The candidate will have energy and drive in abundance with the ability and determination to propel student outcomes and to take digital learning at Carleton High School forwards to the next level.

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic person who:

  • has a passion for helping pupils thrive and meet their full potential.
  • has a friendly manner and can communicate effectively with staff and students.
  • can work effectively as part of a team but can also work independently using their own initiative.
  • has experience of working in a similar specialist area.


What the school offers its staff

Pontefract Academies Trust is a cross phase Multi Academy Trust, comprising of eight schools, six primary schools and two 11 – 16 secondary schools. The Trust is a medium sized family of schools all located within a tight geographic hub within Pontefract. Students are drawn from the local community that includes a mix of different catchment areas.

Carleton High School is an 11-16 school in Pontefract with over 1000 students on roll which has been on a journey of significant improvement in recent years.
