CURRICULUM LEADER OF HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE job summary

In this rapidly expanding 'Good' school, we are looking we need an inspirational specialist to lead our Health and Social Care department from September.

This is a job for an ambitious and committed individual.

The successful applicant will have a passion about learning, have strong inter-personal skills, be resilient, be an excellent teacher and have great subject knowledge including experience of a number of Level 2 and Level 3 specifications. They will be able to deliver Health and Social Care up to KS5 and deliver the new T-Level in Childcare and Development with support and training in this qualification. The successful candidate will be expected to help run after school activities which is likely to focus on interventions or may include running a club as part of our Extended Schools Provision.

We are a highly supportive school with strong subject and senior leadership to help you develop. We are looking for a highly ambitious, committed and dynamic professional to lead our Health and Social Care department who is passionate about their subject, communicates well with young people and makes a positive impact on their learning. The Health and Social Care department currently comprises of 2 full-time Health and Social Care teachers, including the Head of 6th Form.

The Health and Social Care department offers the BTEC Level 1 and 2 award in health and Social Care from Year 9. In Year 12 and 13, we offer the BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate (single award) and Extended Diploma (triple award). In September 2022, we hope to also introduce the T-Level in Childcare and Development. Our students benefit from work placements in our pre-school and primary and we also provide for apprenticeships Post-16.

The size of the school and its all-through status will also provide opportunities for professional development as staff begin to take on positions of responsibility within their department or across the school
