Ormiston Shelfield Community Academy is an exciting and dynamic place to work. We are an oversubscribed secondary academy with approximately 1400 students on roll at Key Stages 3-5. Our core drivers of Outcomes, Values and Choices are at the heart of our daily actions and interactions and we pride ourselves on building strong relationships based on mutual respect, at all levels.
We are looking to recruit a Curriculum Leader of Science to:
- Be accountable for the learning and achievement of all students following Science programmes within the academy.
- To provide high quality leadership and management for Science education within the academy.
As part of your wider duties and responsibilities, you are required to promote and actively support the Academy’s responsibilities towards safeguarding.
The science department at Ormiston Shelfield Community Academy is a welcoming, dynamic team of dedicated teachers. Our departmental staff have excellent working relationships with each other and a history of supporting and working with ITT providers. We strive to ensure that all of students have the scientific knowledge and skills to access their chosen future destinations by offering a broad, well sequenced curriculum from KS3 to KS5. This is a supportive environment in which to work, and the team are always looking to enhance their skills, creativity and competencies in the teaching and learning of science.
