Required for September 2020
(full-time permanent post)

Longbenton is a successful 11-18 school looking to appoint a Curriculum Leader of RS and PSHE from September 2020. This post has come about as a result of the existing post-holder changing role within the school after a number of years of much valued service. The successful applicant will be well supported, both in the department and by the senior leadership of the school.
RS and PSHE are a much valued part of the curriculum at Longbenton and RS is a popular subject here at GCSE level. This is a wide and varied role, which requires the post holder to co-ordinate and lead a large team of non-specialists in the teaching of PSHE. This is an important appointment for us and our priority is getting a very good leader and teacher. In return, you will work in a very supportive environment with pupils who want to learn alongside a friendly staff who are keen to collaborate and develop their practice. The main responsibilities are set out in the applicant’s pack, which you will find on our school website, www.longbenton.org.uk.
The successful candidate will be required to teach across the age and ability range of KS3 and KS4 for RS as well as having the potential to teach Philosophy and Ethics at KS5.
The school run many successful extra-curricular events, and, as such, we would want to see the successful candidate actively getting involved in the whole life of the school. Longbenton offers the successful candidate a whole-hearted commitment to professional learning that places individual development at the heart of its ethos.
Closing date for receipt of applications is 12 noon on Thursday 6 February 2020 with interviews on Tuesday 11 February 2020.

Longbenton is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
