Further details about the role
About the vacancy
HEARTS Academy Trust is looking to strengthen the Central School Improvement Team; therefore, we are looking to recruit a highly motivated, experienced and driven colleague to work centrally as a Curriculum, Learning and Assessment Lead (CLAL) to support our schools.
Initially, the successful candidate will focus on providing support to the team at Waterman Primary School and will be based in the school with frequent visits and meetings in our Head office, located in Wickford for the first year. The role will eventually focus on supporting all schools within our trust, therefore flexibility is required.
Our new colleague will work collaboratively with the school(s) and will be expected to take a whole school responsibility such as SEND, PP, assessment, the curriculum, behaviour/SEMH, D-DSL and any accompanying qualification in schools which they are supporting. There is an expectation that applicants will possess the SENDCo qualification or be studying towards its completion. Curriculum, Learning and Assessment Leads (CLALs) will be expected to contribute to planning, including medium/long term planning and individual lessons as well as quality assuring planning with oversight by the DOCLA/D-DOCLA.
The role will include the performance management of staff in their phase (with the support of the head of school, senior staff and/or DOCLA/D-DOCLA). It is expected that the successful applicant will have experience in closing the gaps. This will mean direct contact time with pupils - teaching and leading pupil interventions as needed/instructed, particularly for pupils at particular points across key stages (ie. end of Reception, Year 2 and Year 6).
