- £32,818.00 - £35,426.00 Annually (Actual) The salary for the post is Grade 11. The actual salary is based on 30 hours per week full-time throughout the year. The full-time equivalent pay is £40,476 to £43,693. This is a fixed-term post to 31st August 2027 at which point it will be reviewed.
Curriculum Software Manager job summary
Job Purpose
- To manage, develop and maintain the school’s curriculum software and other related software applications
- To work with the school’s MIS Manager and Network Manager to ensure the school maximises the use of its MIS software, making recommendations for improving school efficiency
- To provide training and support to school staff to ensure effective use of the curriculum software systems used within school
Key Responsibilities
To provide support for the Senior Leadership Team with:
Timetable and Options
- SIMS Nova T6 timetabling software including timetable construction, data entry and daily updating of student and staff timetables. Distribution of timetables to staff and students as required
- Setting up the academic year and transferring data between Nova T6 and SIMS.net
- Entering students into classes in SIMS.net via SYLK files
- Managing subject carousels throughout the year
- Entering Alternative Provision and non-class codes onto student timetables
- Setting up Year 9 and Year 12 Options Implementations and entering student choices.
- Working during the summer holidays to support Sixth Form Registration, allocation of option choices, timetable construction and preparing timetables and Information Packs in readiness for the new school year
Course Manager
Working collaboratively with the Examinations and Assessment Managers to:
- Maintain SIMS Course Manager, ensuring that the data is accurate and up to date
- Support the work of the Examination and Assessment Managers in their areas of work
School Census Returns
- Be responsible for preparing and completing the Autumn, Spring and Summer Census returns ensuring data is accurate and that the school receives the correct funding
- Keeping abreast of legislative changes that impact curriculum and funding
SIMS Next Gen
Working collaboratively with the MIS and Network Managers to:
- Lead the SIMS Next Gen project to move the school’s MIS software onto the cloud
- Be aware of developments in MIS and educational initiatives and make recommendations to the School Manager on the use of software to support school improvement initiatives
- Investigate the potential of new procedures and systems that contribute to the maintenance of the highest possible level of administrative efficiency in the school, and action
- Assist staff in the production of reports and data, ensuring the accuracy of data
- Undertake housekeeping and archiving of data with due regard to GDPR/ Data Protection Act
