What skills and experience we're looking for
We have a vacancy for a confident, enthusiastic, suitably qualified applicant for the post of Curriculum Specialist – Academic Mentor (Geography), to join a large, successful faculty. The role will involve working with small groups of students to promote progress in Geography.
The successful candidate will:
- be an excellent Geography practitioner
- have a passionate commitment to making Geography stimulating and relevant for all
- be familiar with Key stages 3 and 4 of the National Curriculum and GCSE requirement
- bring real energy and dynamism to the role, alongside genuine enthusiasm for your subject
- be a skilled ICT practitioner and be comfortable using data to inform planning and intervention
- have the calibre and ambition to develop his or her career in and beyond this post
- be willing to contribute to raising the profile of humanities across the School, including extra-curricular opportunities
Geography plays a prominent part in the life of the School and is taught by experience specialist teachers. It is a popular choice at GCSE and Advanced Level.
