What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking a dynamic and inspirational Curriculum Team Leader of English to join our dedicated team of practitioners in delivering a curriculum which informs, transforms and generates a lifelong love of learning. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to really have an impact on the further development of an ambitious and engaging curriculum.
We are seeking to recruit a Curriculum Team Leader of English to:
- Ensure the quality of teaching and learning continues to meet the high aspirations of our learners, providing them with the skills, knowledge and qualifications required for success in their chosen next steps
- Play an ongoing role in curriculum refinement and development
- Maintain and further develop a rigorous system of monitoring, evaluating and improving the quality of teaching and learning and student outcomes across the curriculum
As the successful applicant, you will have:
- Evidence of successful English teaching at KS3 and KS4
- An ability to develop and sustain successful relationships with pupils and colleagues
- Recent, relevant, professional development

The Magna Carta School is an 11-16 academy, part of Unity Schools Trust (UST), based in Staines-Upon-Thames, with approximately 1150 students on role. The school is a founder member of both UST and the 1215 Learning Partnership and is determined to enhance the lives of young people across this area of Surrey.
We are particularly proud of our students; they are both aspirational and enthusiastic about their learning and as a result make good progress and achieve impressive GCSE results. They consistently and successfully progress on to further education and apprenticeships.
