What skills and experience we're looking for

Be able to:

Provide for the learning experiences of pupils in and beyond the classroom

Lead a team of colleagues in developing the highest quality teaching and learning strategies

Develop strategies to put agreed policy into practice

Line manage key personnel.

Participate in the Performance Management process as directed by the Headteacher.

Develop, maintain and control financial and physical resources in the subject area.

Be prepared to contribute towards a Great Curriculum, establish Great Learning and build a culture of Great Professionalism and Great Partnerships, all in a caring, supportive Christian Ethos.

Equipped with:

o First degree and Teaching qualification

o Relevant teaching experience in paid employment

o Experience of: teaching in a maintained comprehensive school; working as a tutor or mentor to young people; working in a multi-cultural environment

o A clear and detailed understanding of what will be involved in addressing the key tasks in the job profile

o Proven success of planning and teaching a specialist subject

o Excellent curriculum knowledge, and a willingness to engage in curriculum innovation

o Commitment to the use of Information and Communications Technology for teaching and administration purposes

o Willingness to take on additional responsibilities

o Commitment to development of an outstanding department in the school; setting and maintaining high standards for staff and pupils; education principles which are inclusive of all pupils

o Ability to work in partnership with pupils, students, parents, staff and governors

o Excellent interpersonal skills
