It is our intention that Droylsden Academy will form a Multi Academy Trust in the near future. This will not alter your employment except that the name of the Trust (not the Academy) will change. You can find more information about this at: https://www.droylsdenacademy.com/tret/417608.html.

“The school’s core values of politeness, hardworking and honesty are in abundance”
“Pupils are interested in their learning because teachers have excellent subject knowledge and plan carefully”
The Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. To ensure this, successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
Interested applicants should complete a Droylsden Academy Application Form and Equal Opportunities Application Form available on the school website at http://www.droylsdenacademy.com/work-at-droylsden-academy/3527.html

About Droylsden Academy

In September 2009, Droylsden School converted to academy status and moved into a state-of-the-art building with places for 1,200 pupils. The academy is sponsored by Tameside College and it works in partnership with the college to raise levels of attainment and the aspirations of students.
Headteacher
Mr P Wilson
Values and vision
Droylsden Academy is built on three core values: politeness, hard work and honesty. The secondary school encourages pupils to treat everyone and everything as they would wish to be treated and to be respectful, polite and courteous at all times.
Ofsted report
“This is an improving academy which is well led by an executive headteacher and a headteacher, who are instilling high expectations and aspirations for students and staff. Senior and middle leadership has been strengthened and this has given the academy greater capacity for further and more rapid improvement. Students are making better progress and their attainment is improving. An above-average percentage of students make expected progress in English. Work with outstanding schools has helped the academy to plan for improvement and has had a positive impact on the academy practices. Students’ behaviour is good. They are eager to learn and are increasingly embracing a stronger work ethos. The academy is a safe and caring community.”
