D&T Technician

– 4pm on Friday (Negotiable)

With effect from September, we are seeking to recruit a technically minded, innovative
and passionate D&T Technician to provide support and direction to our students to help
them achieve their best. You will join an experienced teaching team and support them
in areas such as Technology, Food and Textiles. This is an interesting and varied role
and would suit someone who has practical technology experience with good
organisational and inter-personal skills. Training will be provided, if required.
The candidate will contribute to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare and
personal care of the children and young people with regard to the Keeping Children
Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidelines and Area Child Protection Procedures.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
· Experience of working in a busy environment, working to tight deadlines, whilst
maintaining a safe environment
· Evidence of working in a practical environment or an interest in engineering and/or
construction
· Ability to use own initiative and prioritise effectively, particularly with the repair and
maintenance of the machinery and equipment
· A willingness to undertake appropriate training
· A good communicator, able to work independently and as part of a team
