Group Data & Insights Analyst Assistant

Location: Remote/Home-based

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time, 40 hours pw

Due to the continued growth of The Aurora Group we are currently looking for a Group Data & Insights Analyst Assistant. You will support the Data and Insights Analyst in development of a range of business intelligence initiatives.

The Role:

You will be working under the direction of the Data and Insights Analyst to:

  • Develop and code data systems such as PowerBi to receive and present data in an understandable format which serves business need.
  • Support migration of data when moving from one system to another, work with providers and customers to determine most effective, efficient and safest way of doing this while maintaining data integrity and access to sites.
  • Work with sites as part of a change management program to ensure this aspect is completed.
  • Maintain system access by assigning/removing roles to/from users to ensure appropriate system access and data privacy.
  • Support with develop dashboards/governance reports/KPI reporting/groups/roles based on requests.
  • Identify issues and make recommendations for improvement of system functionality.
  • Pro-actively identify user issues and resolve and/or report to line manager for resolution.

Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:

  • Experience of using and supporting management information systems
  • Desirable to have worked with analytic systems previously, i.e. PowerBi or equivalent BI tools.
  • High level of literacy and numeracy.
  • High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office packages such as PowerBi, Excel, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Fabric or equivalent systems and interest in and ability to learn other systems and packages.
  • Programming Knowledge/Experience ideally in Spark/Python/SQL is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the differences in file types and when to use them (Excel, CSV, JSON, PARQUET, etc...) is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the differences in Visuals and when to use them (Line, Bar, Pie, Histogram, etc...)
  • Experience of using the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, etc...)
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to work autonomously and on own initiative.
  • High levels of interpersonal ability with excellent written and verbal communication
  • High levels of confidentiality and ability to deal with all matters in line with data protection including ability to decline sharing of information without authority.
