Data Officer job summary
This is a new role based at St Anne’s Academy, Middleton. The Data Officer will deliver outstanding data entry and analysis to the school, ensuring a high level of service that supports the Business Manager, Headteacher and Trust Data Manager in providing outstanding quality of information for the Headteacher and leadership team supporting St. Anne’s Academy’s priority: progress for all of our students.
This is a data role which will suit candidates who are keen to develop and learn, with a positive and proactive approach to work. The school specific systems are likely to be something the successful candidate will need to learn, but already having strong numerical and technical skills and a high level of experience in Excel, this should not be a problem.
Applicants must be qualified to degree level or equivalent and be willing and able to complete sector specific training for the management systems the school uses. Candidates must have excellent attention to detail, be critical and analytical thinkers with technical skills and importantly, a passion for interpreting data.
The Team is growing. St Anne’s is part of the Cranmer Education Trust which is a small but growing Schools Trust. By 2022 we will have three secondary schools in our Trust and will be looking to develop our data systems so that they support our highly aspirational curricula and associated methods of assessment. This is an excellent time to join the team, as we develop structures and systems to enhance and support our growing Schools Trust.
The Cranmer Education Trust consists of St Anne’s CE Academy, The Blue Coat School which is an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ school, two primary schools – East Crompton Saint George’s and Mayfield Primary, both of which have been judged as ‘good’ by Ofsted and the Manchester Nexus School Centred Initial Teacher Training school. This is an exciting time for the Trust, having been designated as the Teaching Hub for Oldham and Tameside: Teaching School Hubs will support schools and trusts to recruit, develop, and retain the very best teachers and leaders for the children and young people they serve. To do this, we will signpost and deliver high-quality teacher development programmes across all phases and sectors for teachers at every stage of their career. We will also be opening a new secondary school in Oldham in 2022 for 1,200 pupils. For further details please visit https://careers.cranmereducationtrust.com/
You will be based at St Anne’s Academy, Middleton, a 2 minute drive from Junction 19 of the M62, but may from time to time be required to travel as necessary to collaborate with other schools which are all locally based.
We offer:
• Opportunities for professional development in a growing Trust
• LGPS career average pension scheme including life insurance and dependent's pension
• Generous holiday entitlement and sick pay scheme, increasing with length of service
• A very convenient location with access to motorway networks, buses and trams close by.

St Anne's is a secondary 11-16 school in Middleton, Rochdale. Joining the Cranmer Education Trust in March 2021, the school is on a rapid improvement trajectory with very exciting things to come being part of the Cranmer Community. The quality of education is the school's absolute priority and all staff are supported in being part of this through the new structured whole school and faculty led CPD offer which focuses on specific themes such as metacognition and how to use Rosenshine's principles. The school has made incredible progress with students' online learning and is trailblazing the use of Microsoft Teams, rapidly developing pedagogy so that students continue to be engaged at home as much as at school. The building is a new build with excellent facilities and grounds. The site is easily accessible in less than one mile from Junction 19 of the M62.
