Deputy Curriculum Leader - Head of Dance job summary
We are seeking an inspiring and enthusiastic dance teacher, to lead our Dance Department. As a Deputy Curriculum Leader within the Performing Arts faculty you will manage and monitor the curriculum development of dance across all key stages, facilitating and encouraging inspirational learning experiences. Our dance teachers, who are trained in a wide range of dance styles, achieve consistently strong results across all key stages and many of our students go on to study dance at University. An important element of the role is leading the production of several shows each year including the very popular ‘Outburst’. Studies are complemented with extra-curricular Dance clubs and trips to see professional dance in the theatre. We offer GCSE at KS4 and BTEC at KS5.

As such Dance is offered as a discrete subject to all students in Year 7, 8 and 9, and there are pathways offered across Key Stage 4 and 5 to study Dance towards formal qualifications. As a school we are committed to the essential role of the Arts in any high quality school curriculum, and their vital role in the lifeblood of our school community.
