Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm

Staff Wellbeing: We have a very well thought of staff wellbeing that focusses on allowing staff to concentrate on their work without unnecessary impediment. In addition to this there is a range of supportive measures such marking from home, wellbeing events and staff celebrations.

The Role: We are looking for a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. In this vital role, you will support the Designated Safeguarding Lead in ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection are upheld throughout the school. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the well-being and safety of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that safeguarding policies, procedures and practice are fully up to date with national statutory expectations and local and national best practice.
  • To seek regular mandatory training and regular best practice training for yourself. Make recommendations for the training of others.
  • To support the good leadership and management of the schools.
  • Log, monitor, file and update referrals made on the internal safeguarding recording and reporting system.

What We're Looking For:

  • Refer cases to the local authority children’s social care / Channel.
  • Support staff who make referrals to local authority children’s social care / Channel.
  • Refer cases where a crime may have been committed to the police.
  • Keep detailed, accurate and secure written records of concerns and referrals
  • Provide information for and author assessments and liaise with CAHMS.
