Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead & Family Support Worker job summary
Would you like to join our dedicated team and help us raise standards even further?
We are looking to recruit a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead & Family Support Worker. Experience Preferred (see job descriptions for further details) starting on 1st January 2025.
- To oversee and manage the safeguarding records, Child Protection, Child in Need and Early Help work for the whole school.
- To provide advice and support to parents and carers of children so that they can overcome difficulties and effectively support good attendance and educational outcomes for their child(ren).
- To work with parents/carers, children, school staff, other agencies and volunteers, to develop and maintain family support and to provide a link between the home and school to raise attendance, attainment and to maximise their life chances including coordination of extended services provided by the school.
- To promote equality of opportunity for all pupils linked with expectations in the Thresholds and Pathways document and the statutory requirements in Keeping Children Safe in Education.
- To undertake statutory duties on behalf of the Headteacher in regards to Child Protection Referrals, Early Help Framework and attendance procedures and those outlined in the above documents and as part of the DDSL job description.

The hours are 32.75 per week, 38 weeks per year. Please note the salary quoted is the FTE.
As part of the role there will be a 30 min lunch duty.
The successful candidate will have previous experience of working as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead & Family Support Worker, preferably in a school environment. They will show enthusiasm for their role, show initiative and have an understanding of the importance of supporting social and emotional development in children in order to maximise the achievements and well-being of our pupils.
